I live at a time and in a society that create constant conflict within me. This conflict is what drives much of my work. It creates an inner tension that causes me to find ways to operate within these different contexts, protecting me and protecting my work. I search for ways of presenting myself within these contexts and in the resulting tension I find my tools. From this place I create devices that help the audience to enter into my world and to inhabit it for a while. A world where the body becomes an object that melts or extends itself, thus revealing the common core that all human beings share.
How can I integrate a transparent truth, or my transparent truth, and live with it within a system in which everything is categorized and structured? How can I share my truth and accept that of others? ¿Cuantos somos muchos y solos cuantos somos? Do we need to be saved? Have those who came before us been saved? Who will save us? Who will save me today ?
«Who will save me today?» arises from my everyday experiences. It was born from an encounter with myself and the acceptance of my beliefs about human beings. I have the need to make my work an exercise in honesty. This is the only thing that saves me and allows me to continue day by day.
